Himachal Pradesh (Hindi: himācala pradeśa, pronounced [ɦɪˈmäːtʃəl pɾəˈd̪eːʃ]; Sanskrit: himācāl prādes; lit. "Snow-laden Mountain Province") is a state in the northern part of India. Situated in the Western Himalayas, it is one of the 13 mountain states and is characterised by an extreme landscape featuring several peaks and extensive river systems. Himachal Pradesh is the northernmost state of India and shares borders with the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to the north, and the states of Punjab to the west, Haryana to the southwest, Uttarakhand to the southeast and a very narrow border with Uttar Pradesh to the south. The state also shares an international border to the east with the Tibet Autonomous Region in China. Himachal Pradesh is also known as Dev Bhoomi, meaning 'Land of Gods' and Veer Bhoomi which means 'Land of the Brave'.

Description

Morning drive to Khajjiar, one of the most scenic saucer Plateau and is surrounded by dense pine and deodar forests, Its beauty has further been enhanced by a small lake in the center. This place is also called the Switzerland of India and a stone brought from Switzerland has been installed here. Return to Dalhousie in the evening.

Dalhousie to Dharmshala

After breakfast check out from the Hotel & drive to Dharamshala. Dharamshala is 150 km from Dalhousie and journey time is five to six hours. Arrive & transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Night stay in Dharamshala. Sightseeing of Dharamshala covering the Official residence of Dalai Lama the exiled Tibetan Leader, McLeod Ganj, Dal Lake, etc. Arrive & transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 05

Dharmshala to Amritsar

Description

After breakfast check out from the Hotel & drive back to Amritsar. In the evening the cab will drop you at Amritsar Railway Station/bus station / Airport. Dharamshala to Amritsar travel time is 5 hours (230 Kilometres).
