Day 1: Drive from Manali to Dhundi, followed by a trek to Bakarthach (or Palchani Thatch),. This involves a scenic drive of approximately 1-1.5 hours to Dhundi, and then a 3-4 hour trek to the campsite.

Day 2: Trek from Bakarthach to Beas Kund, and then return to the campsite at Bakarthach. This is usually the most challenging day, involving a 7-8 hour round trip trek through moraine and potentially steep terrain.

Day 3: Descend from Bakarthach to Dhundi, and drive back to Manali. The trek back takes around 2-2.5 hours, followed by a 1-1.5 hour drive to Manali.

The difficulty level is considered easy to moderate, making it suitable for beginners.

While the trek is generally well-marked, some sections might require careful navigation, especially in the meadows.

Himalayan Hikers recommends arriving in Manali a day before the trek to allow for proper acclimatization, as the altitude gain is rapid.

You can expect spectacular views of the Pir Panjal and Dhaula Dhar ranges, as well as peaks like Hanuman Tibba, Friendship Peak, and Kshitidhar.

The Beas River originates from Beas Kund.

The best time for this trek is from mid-April to October.
