SafarCabby Car And Taxi Rentals In Ahmedabad FAQs

Question 1

How much does car rental in Ahmedabad cost for a full day of city sightseeing?

Accepted Answer

A full-day local cab in Ahmedabad covering 80 to 100 km starts at around ₹1,500 to ₹2,000 for a sedan. SUVs for the same circuit run ₹2,800 and above. Rates vary by vendor and vehicle, and SafarCabby lets you compare options before confirming.

Question 2

Can I get an airport cab from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport late at night?

Accepted Answer

Yes, airport transfer in Ahmedabad is available at all hours, including late-night arrivals. Pre-booking is strongly recommended during Navratri, Uttarayan, and the winter festival months when walk-in cab availability at the airport drops significantly.

Question 3

Is self drive car rental available in Ahmedabad?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Self drive car rental in Ahmedabad is available for licensed drivers. It works well for the western city zones - SG Highway, Vastrapur, Gandhinagar, and the Adalaj-Modhera route. For the old city pol area, a driver-guided car is more practical given the narrow lanes and limited parking.

Question 4

What is the best vehicle for the Ahmedabad to Kutch road trip?

Accepted Answer

An SUV like the Innova Crysta or Scorpio is the most practical choice for Kutch. The Rann approach roads after Bhuj can be uneven, and the added ground clearance and luggage space matter on a 3 to 4-day circuit. SUV rental in Ahmedabad for this route is available through SafarCabby's verified vendors.

Question 5

Which roads near Ahmedabad get badly congested during Navratri?

Accepted Answer

The areas around GMDC Ground, the university zone near Navrangpura, and the western approach roads toward Paldi and Ambawadi experience severe congestion during Navratri evenings. Routes toward Ellis Bridge also slow down significantly between 8pm and midnight for all nine nights. Discuss routing with your driver in advance if you are moving around the city during festival evenings.

Question 6

Can I book a tempo traveller for a group pilgrimage from Ahmedabad to Dwarka and Somnath?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tempo traveller hire in Ahmedabad for the Dwarka-Somnath-Gir circuit is a common booking, especially for family groups and pilgrimage parties of 10 or more. The route covers approximately 800 to 900 km round trip over 3 days. Booking at least a week in advance during the October to March pilgrimage season is advisable.

Question 7

What is the best time of year to rent a car and do a road trip from Ahmedabad?

Accepted Answer

October to February is the best window. Temperatures are manageable, the highways are dry, and the Rann Utsav and Modhera Dance Festival both fall in this period. Avoid the June to August monsoon months for longer outstation trips toward Kutch - the Rann becomes inaccessible and some rural roads flood. City rentals run year-round without seasonal disruption.

Question 8

How far is Adalaj Stepwell from central Ahmedabad and how do I get there?

Accepted Answer

Adalaj Stepwell is about 18 to 20 km north of the city centre, roughly a 30 to 40-minute drive depending on traffic. There is no direct metro or bus connection. Most visitors reach Adalaj by cab or rental car, often combining it with Gandhinagar's Akshardham Temple in a single half-day trip.
